Review

Siderado is another solid, competent, but unspectacular album release by Skank containing reggae-ska-rock-pop of the same radio-friendly sort that, through their previous three CDs, made Skank so enormously popular in Brazil. The best songs of the album are "Siderado," "Saideira," "Romance Noir," and "Resposta." "Resposta," a simple but well-crafted pop song seemingly inspired by lô Borges-brand songwriting, was written by Samuel Rosa together with Nando Reis (from the rock group Titãs) and stands out from the rest of the tracks. Siderado would prove to be the last of Skank's reggae-based albums, as the band in the following years would move on to a more rock-oriented sound (which also proved to be a wise move, as it's clearly a better fit for the dynamics of the band). ~ Philip Jandovský, All Music Guide
