Game Description
Elect yourself mayor of a city with SimCity 2000 for the Super Nintendo. As mayor, it is your job to build the city from the ground up and ensure that your citizens have everything they need. You'll need to finance, build and maintain houses, bridges, power plants, military bases, factories, airports, fire stations, roads, shops, a water supply system and other staples of city life. Also, you will want to beautify your city by adding trees, lakes and ponds. Bulldozers are available for use in landscaping, changing the altitude of the land and de-zoning residential, commercial and industrial land.As your city grows, you must increase transportation routes and build more facilities for your citizens. High taxes, pollution, overcrowding, poor city planning and other problems can drive away the masses, putting your city's future in doubt. Floods, fires, tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes and monsters can also have an effect on the success or lack thereof of your city. Read the (biannual) newspaper to keep up with current events and to find out what the citizens are saying. Maps are available for when you need help in planning the future of your city.
