What are simethicone oral drops?
SIMETHICONE (Mylicon® Infant Drops, Genasyme® Drops, Flatulex® Drops, and others) is an antiflatulent used to treat too much gas in the stomach and intestines. Swallowing too much air or eating foods that disagree often causes gas. Generic simethicone oral drops are available.
What should I tell my health care provider before I take this medicine?
They need to know if you have any of these conditions:
an unusual or allergic reaction to simethicone, other medicines, foods, dyes, or preservatives
pregnant or trying to get pregnant
breast-feeding
How should I take this medicine?
Take simethicone oral drops by mouth. Use the special dropper included with the medicine. For infants, the dosage can be mixed with one ounce of cool water, infant formula or other suitable liquids to ease administration. Follow the directions on the label. If your health care providers have given you special instructions, follow their directions instead of what is on the label. Do not take your medicine more often than directed.
Contact your pediatrician or health care professional regarding the use of this medicine in children. These drops are regularly recommended for use in children and infants.
What if I miss a dose?

What should I watch for while taking simethicone?
In general, simethicone is a very safe drug. Tell your health care prescriber if your symptoms get worse, or if you have severe pain, diarrhea, constipation, or blood in your stool.
What side effects may I notice from taking simethicone?
There are no reported side effects with simethicone.
Where can I keep my medicine?
Keep out of the reach of children in a container that small children cannot open.
Store at room temperature between 15 and 30 degrees C (59 and 86 degrees F). Keep container tightly closed. Throw away any unused medicine after the expiration date.
