Goulart, Simon or Simon Goulard (1543-1628). Calvinist scholar and apologist who succeeded Bèze as president of the Genevan synod in 1605. His diverse output includes important collections of documents relating to the Wars of Religion (Mémoires de l'état de France, 1576; Histoire ecclésiastique, 1580) and a popular compilation of Histoires admirables et mémorables (1600).
