Simon Over is a pianist and conductor based in London, UK.
Simon started his musical career studying at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam and the Royal Academy of Music in London. [1] While at the Academy, he won all the major awards for piano accompaniment and made his début on BBC Radio Three and London's South Bank Centre. He then read music at Oxford University. From 1992 to 2002 Over worked as a member of the music staff of Westminster Abbey, and then as the Director of Music at St Margaret's Church and the Chapel of St Mary Undercroft at the Palace of Westminster[2]. He founded and conducts the Parliament Choir, which is made up of members of both houses of Parliament, and other staff of the houses, and the Southbank Sinfonia, a new orchestra founded to help talented young instrumentalists bridge the gap between conservatoire and professional careers.
He also has specialized in piano accompaniment, playing with many top instrumentalists and singers such as Sir Thomas Allen, Ian Bostridge, Simon Keenlyside, Emma Kirkby, Dame Felicity Lott, Della Jones, Christopher Maltman, Catherine Wyn-Rogers, Miriam Kramer, Sir Willard White, Anthony Marwood, Alessio Bax, Malcolm Martineau, Emma Johnson and Sir James and Lady Galway.
