Simona Ventura (born on 1 April 1965 in Bentivoglio) is an Italian television presenter.

The Beginnings

Ventura started in TV on "Domani Sposi with Giancarlo Magalli on Rai Uno; her love for sport took her into sports reporting : for the italian Télé Monte Carlo she was the correspondent during the 1990 World Cup, the European Championship in 1992 and during the Olympic Games in Barcelona.

At RAI, Ventura has appeared with Pippo Baudo on the Sunday afternoon programme "Domenica In" (1991) and then, in 1992, the sport programme "Domenica Sportiva". She also been on "Pavarotti International".

Years at Mediaset

Ventura's career continued on Mediaset channels hosting variety shows like "Mai dire gol", "Cuori e Denari, "Boom", " Scherzi a parte" (the Italian version of Punk'd), "Festivalbar", "Le Iene", "Matricole", Gli indelebili '99, "Cari amici miei", "Zelig - Noi facciamo cabaret", and "Piccole Canaglie". In all, she spent eight years at Mediaset.

In 1996 Simona hosted the newcomers' section of Sanremo Music Festival for RAI.

Years at RAI

In 2001 Simona went back to Rai Due to host "Quelli che il calcio" and a peak viewing programme called "Quelli che lo smoking"; in 2002 Pippo Baudo choose her for the "Dopofestival" ( a variety show about the Sanremo Music Festival) and next a satirical programme with Gene Gnocchi called "La grande notte del lunedì sera", she has been presenting the Italian version of Celebrity Survivor, "L'Isola Dei Famosi," from 2003.

In 2004 she presented Maceroni Music Fart on Rai Uno.

Next year Simona hosted the second season of the reality "MusicFarm" and again in 2006. She also had the prime time access rule on Rai Uno with "Le Tre Scimmiette" and in 2007 appeared during peak hours with "Colpo di Genio".

She is still hosting "Quelli che il calcio."

From 2008 Simona was a judge in two series of Italian X-Factor. A large TV audience always tuned in to see Simona judge the contests and to hear her very intriguing criticisms and insights about the contestants. She was also famous for her unique fashion statements during the show. However in 2009, Simona announced she was leaving the show.

Other appearances

In 1996 Simona was the Italian voice of Lola Bunny in Space Jam.

She acted in the film Fratelli Coltelli in 1997

In 2008 Simona starred in "La fidanzata di papà" with Massimo Boldi and Elisabetta Canalis.

In 2009 Simona attended the Cannes Film Festival in May.

In 2010 she have a cameo in Sofia Coppola's Somewhere.
