Like most Pathe films of the period, Simone was color-tinted, frame by frame, by the studio's crack team of graphic artists. It's a good thing that the film was prettily colored, since it had very little else to offer. In fact, if one believes contemporary reviews, it didn't even have a plot line. Variety always had nice things to say about Pathe's professionally precise coloring process, but this time the trade paper was moved to suggest that color alone simply wasn't enough. Simone was one of five Pathe films released during the week of April 30, 1910. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
