Sincalide is a drug that acts like a hormone that the body makes. It is used in tests to check how well the pancreas and gallbladder are working. It is also used to hurry barium out of the body.

They need to know if you have any of these conditions:
• gallstones
• liver disease
• irregular bowel movements
• an unusual reaction to sincalide, other medicines, foods, dyes, or preservatives

This medicine is for injection into a vein or muscle. It is given by a health care provider in a hospital or clinic.

Sincalide (INN) is a cholecystokinetic drug administered by injection to aid in diagnosing disorders of the gallbladder and pancreas. It is the 8-amino acid C-terminal fragment of cholecystokinin, and also known as CCK-8.

Common adverse effects following administration include abdominal discomfort and nausea. These effects are more pronounced following rapid infusion.
