Xindian City, (Traditional Chinese: 新店市) is a city in the southern part of Taipei County in northern Taiwan (ROC). Xindian is the Hanyu Pinyin spelling of the city's name, official after January 1, 2009. Xindian is a satellite city of Taipei with a high percentage of its population commuting to the city for work. In 2009 the entire county will become a city in its own right: a special municipality called New Taipei. [1]

The Aviation Safety Council, Taiwan's aircraft accident and incident investigation agency, has its headquarters in Xindian.[2]
Taiwan's Kuomintang government moved the seat of government (in exile) of Fujian Province, Republic of China to Xindian from 1956 to 1996.[3]
