Biography

The Indianapolis-based traditional country revivalists Sindicato originally comprised singer/guitarist Frank Dean, multi-instrumentalist Jason Roller and bassist Gary Wasson. Initially formed simply to record a collection of Dean's songs, Sindicato was never intended to remain a going concern, but reaction to their 1997 debut Appalachian Pipeline -- issued on their own Union Records label -- was so positive that the group decided to continue on. Although Roller subsequently exited, they swelled to a five-piece with the addition of mandolinist Ralph Jeffers, accordionist John Sheets and percussionist Carl LoSasso. ~ Jason Ankeny, Rovi
