Modern-day Singapore was built upon trade, and the Singapore Exchange (SGX) is proudly carrying on that tradition. The exchange, which has more than 700 listed companies, was formed in the 1999 merger of the Stock Exchange of Singapore and the Singapore International Monetary Exchange. Securities products include stocks and bonds, ETFs, warrants, and infrastructure funds. In addition to securities and derivatives trading, SGX offers its customers securities clearing and other technology services. About half of the listings on the SGX are for foreign companies. The company is listed on its own exchange.
