Sings the Million Sellers

Album Review: Sings the Million Sellers

  • Artist: Lloyd Price
  • Rating: StarStarStarHalf Star
  • Release Date: 1961
  • Genre: Rhythm & Blues

Review

Lloyd Price sang the hits of the immediate timeframe on this long out-of-print album, doing particular justice to "Ain't That Just like a Woman" (then a minor seller for Fats Domino), the Miracles' "Shop Around," the Midnighters' "The Hoochie Coochie Coo," and the Drifters' "I Count the Tears." Uptown soul arrangements by future Motown staffer Gil Askey give Price full-bodied support. ~ Bill Dahl, All Music Guide
