Biography

American screenwriter Sloan Nibley entered films in 1947 as a staffer at Republic Pictures. Nibley became one of the principal writers of the studio's Roy Rogers vehicles, remaining in this niche until Rogers left films in 1951. Thereafter, Nibley continued to specialize in Westerns until his own retirement in 1956; one of his more famous credits was the 1952 Gary Cooper starrer Springfield Rifle.
