SLUDGE (Scripting Language for Unhindered Development of a Gaming Environment) is an open source adventure game engine developed by Hungry Software. It combines a scripting language with other IDE tools (including a sprite bank editor and a floor region editor). Freeware and commercial adventure games can be created with the engine.

Originally shareware and then freeware, the engine and development kit are now open source as of 6 January 2008. The project is hosted on Sourceforge and can be found here.
