This is a mandatory bet which is a fraction of the big blind (usually half). This is the player one spot to the left of the dealer (button). In order to continue play the small blind must complete the bet placed by the big blind or any other raise placed by the remaining players.
SoundPoker Says: In a game of 10/20 the big blind would bet 10 and the small blind would bet 5. After the remaining players, starting one to the left of the big blind decide to bet or raise, the small blind can choose to either fold, raise or bet the remainder of the blind to complete their bet.
