Wikipedia: Soft sculpture

Soft sculpture is a type of sculpture made using cloth, foam rubber and simlar material. It was popularized by Claes Oldenburg in the 1960s. Xavier Roberts, the creator of the popular Cabbage Patch Kids made his first dolls using this method.
