Review

In all likelihood, there will never be a Steve Young greatest-hits collection -- all of his chart success has come courtesy of other artists' renditions of his material. In any case, at least there's Solo/Live, an intimate acoustic collection which serves as a fine overview of Young's career as well as a good introduction to his talents. Recorded in 1990 at Houston's Anderson Fair, the record includes most of his best-loved songs, including "Seven Bridges Road," "Montgomery in the Rain," and "Long Way to Hollywood." In addition, there are covers of "You Don't Miss Your Water," "Tobacco Road" and "Drift Away," as well as the tradtional sea chanty "Go to Sea No More." ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide
