Pearl Bailey, primarily a club performer, had a spotty recording career despite a good voice that projected a strong personality. This budget-priced compilation licenses tracks from Roulette, Sony, RCA, MCA, and Project 3, throwing together recordings that probably range from the 1940s to the '70s. The selection, sequence, and editing are all haphazard; for example, "I've Got You Under My Skin" seems to begin a couple of lines in.
