Song-sen-gam-po

Sometimes known as Songstan Gambo, Songsen-gam-po is a legendary historical hero celebrated in countless folktales of the kingdom of Ladakh. He is said to have been responsible, by way of marriage to princesses from Nepal and China, for making Tibet—and by example Ladakh—officially Buddhist (See Buddhism).
