The company was started as part of Tom Snyder Productions, creators of educational software when it created and produced their first TV show, Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist in 1995 for Comedy Central. Following their purchase by Scholastic Corporation in 2001, the animated production unit was renamed after the Three Stooges feature Soup to Nuts.
