South-western Sydney

South-Western Sydney is a general term which is used to describe the metropolitan area in south-west Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

In practice, it can include everywhere from the inner south-west suburbs around Canterbury and Bankstown to the outer south-west suburbs around Campbelltown and beyond to Camden. It can also sometimes be used to refer exclusively to certain areas, such as those around Campbelltown and Liverpool.

South-Western Sydney can be used to describe the suburbs found in the local government areas of Canterbury, Bankstown, Fairfield Liverpool, Campbelltown and Camden.

"I survived South West Sydney", a popular group on the social networking site Facebook is dedicated to capturing the experience of growing up in the South West. Some of its members have tried to imply that the area from Glenfield to Campbelltown is the real heart of South West Sydney.
