Nanfang Daily(Chinese: 南方日报; pinyin: Nánfāng Rìbào), or referred to as Southern Daily, is the Guangdong Provincial Communist Party official newspaper, sister to the more lively and commercial Southern Metropolis Daily and part of the giant Southern Media Group. [1]
This Guangzhou-based family of papers are known to possess superior reporting and higher level of frankness than many PRC mainstream press outlets.[2]
