History
The company was founded in 1886 as The Progressive Farmer Company when it launched its first magazine Progressive Farmer.
In 1985 the company was bought by Time Inc. for $480 million, which at the time was largest price ever paid for a magazine.
In 2006, the company sold its Progressive Farmer magazine to DTN.
