A good orchestral cartoony score for a semi-animated film. James Howard provided a score that attempts to capitalize on the happenings in the movie, and act both as simple mood music (as any good score should) as well as to help fill in the various sound effects that are needed in a cartoon when able. As such, the score suffers somewhat on a standalone listen. It's certainly fanciful, and loony in portions, but, as a coherent whole, it needs the movie badly to accompany. Otherwise, it's just a collection of snippets and orchestral sound effects. ~ Adam Greenberg, All Music Guide
