Plot
Roger Spottiswoode directs Jeff Goldblum, Anthony LaPaglia, and Liev Schreiber in the political satire Spinning Boris. The film takes place during the Russian elections of 1996 that ended with Boris Yeltsin becoming the head of the country. The film is based on the true story of three American political consultants, who ran the successful reelection campaign of Boris Yeltsin in 1996, although some question the degree of involvement of the Americans in Yeltsin's reelection. Andrew Wilson, for instance, mocks the idea of Gorton, Dresner, and Shumate playing a significant role in his work Virtual Politics.
