Review

On July 4, 1996, Jonn Serrie journeyed to the Nacoochee Valley in the North Georgia Mountains. He staged a concert with John Winterhawk Johnson and Tom Walk in Dreams Goodman. Thus, the concept for Spirit Keepers was born. This is a very deep and inspirational hybrid that bridges two cultures. The project joins Serrie's electronic devices with Goodman and Johnson's acoustics and mysticism. The atmospheres are expansive, the sound design is intense, and the soundscapes are spiritual. This highly emotional set evokes healing powers and cleansing imagery. Deep listeners will enter the shamanic zones of this trio. The CD will appeal to fans of Cornsmoke, Coyote Oldman, R. Carlos Nakai, and Douglas Spotted Eagle. It is essential Native American music. ~ Jim Brenholts, All Music Guide
