Sports radio (or sports talk radio) is a radio format devoted entirely to discussion and broadcasting of sporting events. A popular format with an almost exclusively male demographic in most areas^{[citation needed]}, sports radio is characterized by an often-boisterous on-air style and extensive debate and analysis by both hosts and callers; political commentary is rare^{[citation needed]}. Many sports talk stations also carry play-by-play of local sports teams as part of their regular programming.

Sports talk is available in both local and syndicated forms, and is carried in some form on both major North American satellite radio networks. In the United States, most sports talk formated radio stations air mostly syndicated programming from ESPN Radio, Sporting News Radio, and Fox Sports Radio.

88.9 Brila Fm: Sports Radio 88.9 Brila FM, an off shoot of Brila Broadcasting Services hit the air waves in Lagos in 2002 and opened its second station at Mpape Hill Abuja in 2007.Since inception, Nigeria’s first all sports Radio station has taken sports broadcasting to greater heights and has become the most reliable source of information for lovers and administrators of sports. Our present base is the 10th Floor, 634 Adeyemo Alakija, Victoria Island, Lagos and Grange Hills, Mpape Junction near Maitama, Abuja.

Our Mission To dig deep for facts, reach the far-flung parts of the world for reports; give expert analysis/commentaries and providing a platform for interaction as well as audience participation everyday, while continuously contributing to national enlightenment, development and entertainment.
