Spree

Wikipedia: Spree (candy)
Package of Chewy Spree candy

Spree is a brand of hard yet chewable candy. They come packaged in tubes and have a variety of fruit flavors. Packages and advertising bear the slogan "It's Like A Kick In The Mouth" (English) and its equivalents in other languages. Original Spree and its variants are available in packets, rolls, bags, and bulk bags of 4 and 30 pounds/1818 grammes and 13.63 kg.

A variation called Chewy Spree is also sold. A previous variation of the candy called Spree Sunsations was also briefly manufactured, with pastel colors and less intense flavors. Chewy Spree also comes in the Mix'd Berry variety, including pink, light blue, orange-red, and other colours corresponding to various flavours.

Prior to its purchase by Nestlé, the candy was manufactured by Sunline Brands, Inc.

Flavors

According to Nestlé, Spree and Chewy Spree come in the following flavours:

  • Orange spree - Orange flavor
  • Red spree - Strawberry flavor
  • Green spree - Sour Apple flavor (which replaced the original Lime flavor)
  • Yellow spree - Lemonade flavor
  • Purple spree - Grape flavor

Mix'd Berry Chewy Spree has these four colours:

Pouring Chewy Spree and Mix'd Berry Chewy Spree into a bowl results in a mixture of nine different colours although the reds and purples may look alike to those with colour blindness of various types. The blog Candy Addict, other blogs, and other sources and commentators do not agree as to whether there are four mixtures of berry flavours or four different berries represented.

According to the packaging, the Sprees were manufactured in Switzerland and came in the following flavors:

  • Red spree
  • Aqua spree - Blueberry flavor
  • Pink spree
  • Purple spree
