US Military Dictionary:

Squadron Officer School

A postgraduate air force service school course offered by the Squadron Officer College at Maxwell AFB in Alabama. Established in 1954, it replaced the Squadron Officer Course, which had been part of the Air Command and Staff School (renamed the Air Command and Staff College in 1954), since 1950. It has been a separate component school of the Air University since 1959.
