.st is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for São Tomé and Príncipe. It is also being marketed worldwide as an abbreviation for various things.
Registrations are taken directly at the second level, but some names have been reserved for use in specialized third-level registrations (though not all of these are actually in use at present):
The .st domain is being marketed as a general-use domain, with a number of meanings suggested including the abbreviation of "street", short for "Star Trek" and more. The .st domain is also commonly used to create domain names that spell words ending in st such as "[bur.st]".
The state of Styria, in Austria, has ST as its unofficial but common abbreviation. Therefore, the .st extension is used by some small businesses located in Styria, despite Austria's own .at.
The Global Hosted Operating System (G.ho.st) uses the .st domain to allow use of a domain name of G.ho.st for their online virtual operating system.
The website for the Seaside web application framework is located at seaside.st; in this case, .st stands for Smalltalk, the language the framework is written in.
Another example of the use of an .st domain would be iju.st. This site intends to provide real time reviews on products as well as the largest entertainment database on the web.
Ghost Community ISP offers .gho.st subdomains to the public free of charge, advertising or other commercial interests. These subdomain expire after 28 consecutive days of inactivity. Any non web crawling page visit is counted as activity.
