Objects are staggered if they could be arranged to coincide or match in some way, but are actually arranged so that they have an increasing offset.
Events are staggered if they are organised to start and end at different times when they might otherwise coincide. For example, in some countries the start and end dates of school holidays are staggered to reduce pressure on transport facilities if all families go on holiday on the same date.
