Steel of West Virginia (SWV), a subsidiary of Steel Dynamics, owns and operates a steel minimill and steel fabrication facilities in West Virginia and Tennessee. The company custom-designs and manufactures finished steel products, including structural beams, channels, and special shape sections, using electric furnace steel. SWV's products are used as structural elements of trucks, trailers, heavy machinery, and manufactured housing, as well as in guardrail posts, mining applications, and light-rail systems. SWV's custom-finished products are intended to go directly into its customers' assembly lines. Its Tennessee-based subsidiary Marshall Steel fabricates steel cross members. SWV got its start in 1909.
