Steve Bannos (born August 5, 1960) is an American television and film actor and writer. As an actor, he may be best known for his portrayal of Frank Kowchevski on the short-lived NBC dramedy Freaks and Geeks.
A well disguised Steve Bannos also played the characters "Mr. Combover" and "Mr. Gross" on the Nickelodeon TV show, Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide. Steve can also be seen in the films, Superbad, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Drillbit Taylor, Pineapple Express, and Unaccompanied Minors.

Steve Bannos also wrote for Freaks and Geeks, Disney's Recess, the Nickelodeon program Doug and four time Guest Writer on Saturday Night Live.
Steve Bannos is also an accomplished copywriter in the entertainment field. He has worked for all the major Hollywood ad agencies and has been dubbed the Comedy Doctor. His copywriting work consists of movie teasers and trailers, special shoot movie and television ad campaigns and scores of movie taglines.
Steve Bannos wrote the pre-taped Comedy Sketches starring Warren Buffet shown on large screen at the Berkshire Hathaway annual shareholders meeting for the years 2004-2008. Other notable celebrities in the sketches included Governor Arnold Schwarzenneger, LeBron James, Charlie Munger, Tom Brady, Ron Olson, Will McDonough, Robert Kraft, Randy Moss and Gisele Bündchen.
Steve Bannos is also an internationally renown dealer of Vernacular Photography.
