Stilpo und seine Kinder, a tragedy in five acts by F. M. Klinger. It was written in 1777 when Klinger was an itinerant actor with the Seylersche Truppe. Klinger declared that it was only a stage work and that he would not publish it. It was, nevertheless, published in 1780. It is a story of conspiracy and revenge in Florence. Stilpo wishes to avenge his brother's death by execution. Through the courage of his wife, who assassinates his enemy, he triumphs, but his two sons are killed.
