(materials) Any of the powerful, quick-acting dynamites composed of nitroglycerin, a combustible such as wood meal, sodium nitrate, and an antacid such as calcium or magnesium carbonate; made in 15 to 60% strength, the percentage representing the proportion of nitroglycerin in the dynamite.
