Poker Guide: Straight Flush
Top

Having five cards with the same suit in a sequence (numerical or ranking of the cards).

SoundPoker Says: In draw poker, if you held 6-7-8-9-10 all of hearts you would have a straight flush. In hold'em if your hole cards were A-2 of clubs, the board showed 4 of clubs - 3 of clubs - Ace of diamonds - Queen of hearts - 5 of clubs, you would have A-2-3-4-5 all of clubs and have a straight flush. A straight flush is almost unbeatable. It beats all other hands except a royal flush, or a straight flush to a higher card. Let's say you have A-2-3-4-5 all of clubs but an opponent held 6-7 clubs. The opponent would have a straight flush to the seven 3-4-5-6-7 all clubs and would win.
