Damon "Crazy Legs" Hall, once part of the trio Guy with his brother Aaron (who joins him for one cut on this debut CD), breaks out with his own MCA CD. There's plenty of production bombast, a blend of New Jack and retro arrangements, and the usual erratic tendencies common on introductory releases. Some songs are overly busy; there's too much fabric, instrumentation and backbeats, and Hall's voice gets submerged. It's unclear whether Hall wants to be a balladeer or dance-oriented vocalist, New Jack or retro/old school artist, but when things click, he makes you want to hear more.
