www.stv.tv is the URL of the website of the Scottish television channel, STV. The website currently offers the usual sections of News, Sport, Entertainment, Weather, Competitions, Forums and STV programme information, with TV listings. It also offers other specialised services such as online bingo and job seeking.

STV began relaunching the website in August 2008, with the launch of their online catch up service. The News section moved into BETA testing a few weeks later, with programme-specific pages in October, starting with Britannia High. The stv.tv homepage moved to BETA in December. The relaunch was complete in April 2009.

STV Player

In August 2008, STV launched a new catch-up service on their website: stv.tv/video. The new service was similar to the ITV catch-up service and features most of STV's main programming on the website, for up to 30 days after it was first broadcast on the channel. Amongst the most viewed videos on the site are networked soaps Coronation Street and Emmerdale alongside regional programmes produced by STV themselves, including the comedy dramas High Times and Cracked, game show Postcode Challenge and documentary series The Merchant Navy. UEFA Champions League and Magners League highlights programmes are also avaliable to view.

Local and regional news bulletins from STV News in Northern and Central Scotland are also featured on the site although some bulletins (along with networked programming) are only available to view in the UK owing to rights issues.

In July 2009, STV relauched their catch-up service with a brand new look and advertising campaign, renaming it as "STV Player".

The video player was developed by Brightcove.

Video blogs

From June 2007, STV's news division began producing video blogs, named The Real MacKay[1] (STV Central), and Northern Exposure[2] (STV North). The blogs feature behind-the-scenes insights into the station's regional news programmes and interviews with newsroom staff. The blogs are updated on a regular basis.

On 5 December 2007, a new weather blog was launched - Weather Blether, presented and produced by weatherman Seán Batty.[3]
