Subterranean Records

Wikipedia: Subterranean Records

Subterranean Records is an independent record label based in San Francisco, California. Founded by Steve Tupper in 1979, it focused on that city's underground punk and industrial music scene, though over the years it has also released records by artists from many other geographical areas and genres.

They have released some important underground rock albums, most notably four LPs by Flipper. The Dead Kennedys have released a single on the label; other groups that have appeared on the label include Code Of Honor, Pop-O-Pies, Nervous Gender, Factrix, Z'EV, The Longshoremen, No Alternative, The Lewd, The Tools, Minimal Man, Psyclones, Chrome, Helios Creed, Penelope Houston, Frightwig, Polkacide, Housecoat Project, Caroliner, Kathleen Yearwood, Angel'in Heavy Syrup, Inflatable Boy Clams and Controlled Bleeding.[[ Wilma]].

However in recent years it has declined in importance. few records have been recorded in the last 15 years. The website has not been updated since 2002.
