and spread over us the sukkah (shelter) of Your peace.
This may allude to the Clouds of Glory, which are spiritually
related to the Sukkah (see Leviticus 23:43 and Unkelos
translation); or to the protection of the Divine Presence (see Job
1:10 for a similar usage); or to the Holy Temple, which is
poetically called a Sukkah (in the Hoshanot prayers, and in Psalms
76:3).
