Review

While he was at Sun, Little Milton tried a variety of different sounds and styles -- sounding like everybody from Elmore James and B.B. King to Fats Domino -- which was all tied together by his raw, manic lead guitar. The Sun Masters collects many of Milton's absolute finest moments -- he never again sounded quite as wild or reckless, either vocally or instrumentally, as he did here. ~ Thom Owens, All Music Guide
