Sun Microsystems Laboratories, or Sun Labs is the research and development branch of Sun Microsystems. It was established in 1990 by Ivan Sutherland and Robert Sproull. Currently there are facilities in Menlo Park, CA and Burlington, MA, Interim Director: Robert Sproull (as of 2006).
Sun Labs works in hi-tech areas, such as asynchronous circuits, optical communications, new web technologies, Java technologies, computer networks, etc.
