Sunday Mail

Wikipedia: Sunday Mail (Scotland)

The Sunday Mail is a Scottish tabloid newspaper published every Sunday. It is the sister paper of the Daily Record and is owned by Trinity Mirror and as such has a left-wing outlook which in turn tends to guide Scottish political debate in that direction.

The cover of the newspaper on July 1, 2007, reporting on events of the 2007 Glasgow International Airport attack, the previous day.

The Sunday Mail is read by over 1.5 million people per week making it the biggest selling Sunday newspaper within Scotland.[citation needed]

It should not be confused with The Mail on Sunday; the Daily Mail was unable to use the title "Sunday Mail" when it launched a Sunday edition in 1982 because the Scottish paper already existed.

In November 2008, the Sunday Mail criticised double standards in Scottish Football.[1] The newspaper has campaigned against inappropriate song singing in Scotland [2],[3] and also in European football games.[4] Gordon Waddell sometimes peppers his stories with religious references when referring to those of particular backgrounds.[5]
