Supernova Cosmology Project
The Supernova Cosmology Project is one of two research teams that determined the likelihood of an accelerating universe and therefore a positive Cosmological constant. This discovery was named "Breakthrough of the Year for 1998" by Science Magazine.
The project uses data from the redshift of Type Ia supernovae.
The project is mainly based at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. The team is headed by Saul Perlmutter.
