Swatch FIVB World Championships

Wikipedia: Swatch FIVB World Championships

The Swatch FIVB World Championships (also known as the Beach Volleyball World Championships) is an international beach volleyball championship.

The first official edition of this event, was the 1997 Beach Volleyball World Championships in Los Angeles, California. Before that there had been ten unofficial championships (1987-1996) all held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The World Championship is held every second year; in 2005 it was hosted in Berlin, in 2007 Gstaad and in 2009 it is to be held in Stavanger, Norway from June 25 to July 5.
