Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest 1994

In order to choose a song and a singer for the Eurovision Song Contest 1994, Sweden held the national selection Melodifestivalen 1994. Out of 1 560 songs, 10 were selected for the final and then juries, after the complaints on the televoting the previous year, voted for a winner. Marie Bergman, (who had also represented Sweden in 1971 and 1972) and Roger Pontare (who would later represent Sweden in 2000) won. Their song, written by Mikael Littvold and Peter Bertilsson, was called Stjärnorna.

Marie and Roger opened the startfield for the Dublin final. After a disappointing voting, they only came 13th (out of 25) with 48 points.
