Sycorax

 

(sĭk'ərăks') , in astronomy, one of the natural satellites, or moons, of Uranus.

Sycorax can refer to

• Sycorax, a character mentioned though not seen in William Shakespeare's play The Tempest.
• Sycorax (moon), a moon of Uranus, named after the fictional character.
• The Sycorax, a fictional alien race from the Doctor Who episode "The Christmas Invasion". In the later episode "The Shakespeare Code" the Doctor mentions them in front of Shakespeare, who likes the word and decides to use it.
• Sycorax, a unique combination of typefaces and spelling used by the poet Kamau Brathwaite.
