Rake

 

A predetermined amount a poker room or poker website takes out of each pot. This is usually a small fraction of the pot, ranging from 2-5% of the pot, but there are instances of some poker rooms taking as much as 10% of the pot. This is sometimes referred to as snatch.

SoundPoker Says: For every hand played at a poker room/casino the dealer takes a small portion from each pot. This is taken out so the casino/poker room also brings in money.
