Taboo is the 41st single released in Japan by Kumi Koda.
The single was released on October 8, 2008. It contains "Taboo," "Always," a remix of "Taboo," and instrumentals "Taboo," and Always." The Playroom special edition of the CD, contains an alternate front cover, and is specially released to fanclub members. The fanclub edition contained a notebook with photos from "Taboo." "Taboo," became her 5th #1 single when it topped the Oricon Weekly Charts.
TABOO is certified Platinum for shipment of 250,000 copies .

Music video
The music video for Taboo is set in a dark dining hall, a public restroom, and a public lounge. Kumi enters with her boyfriend and they go their own ways, meeting up with others. The music video explores themes of homosexuality, not unlike her previous music videos for But and Ima Sugu Hoshii.
The "Another Version" of Taboo focuses more on the washroom scene from the first version, and also the red room scene where Kumi dances with the two girls. At the end, the final dance scene from the first version is also included, unabridged.
