Talisay City is a 5th class city in the province of Negros Occidental, Philippines. It neighbors Silay City to the north, and Bacolod City to the south. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 79,146 people in 15,774 households.
A Gawad Kalinga village, Hope GK, a project that houses the poor and homeless people of the Philippines, is located in Concepcion.
Mayor Eric "Doc" Saratan is the current mayor of Talisay City. The current Vice-Mayor is Neil Lizares.
TUP-Visayas, a technical university with a focus on the fields of Electronics and Communications Engineering and Mechanical Engineering is located in the city. It is funded by the national government.

Talisay City is politically subdivided into 27 barangays.
